"English National Ballet School was established in 1988 at Markova House, the headquarters of English National Ballet and, in the Autumn of 1995, moved to its own premises in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. “Rambert Dance Company is Britain’s oldest performing company and has been at its present home in Chiswick since the mid 70’s. The main rehearsal studio had an old floor with no springing, which was taking its toll on the dancers. Eventually the wear became obvious to the eye, and it was at this point that Harlequin introduced me to their Activity Floor®. It was to prove to be the ideal solution - and cost effective too! We specified Harlequin Studio as the performance surface, as this was the flooring that we toured with. Dancers would be used to the material and, being cushioned, it would further help with impact absorbency. The Activity Floor® was expertly and quickly installed by Harlequin’s Contracts Division and after more than 10 years looks as good as the day it went in.
