 Activity - a permanently installed sprung floor system based on a revolutionary triple 'sandwich' composite construction. Activity completely eliminates the need for metal springs and rubber pads and because it is a fully floating system with no fixings to the floor it can be laid on almost any surface without preparation. Shock-damped to avoid a 'trampoline' effect and combining area and point elasticity to offer identical characteristics across the whole floor, Activity is ideal for ballet, reducing injury risk and enhancing dancers' performances.
 ApplicationsActivity is available for permanent installation only and is the ideal floor for dance studios or rehearsal rooms and, depending on your choice of surface, is suitable for all types of dance and performance.Design and ConstructionActivity floors are only available for installation by Harlequin Contracts Division. As Activity is a fully floating floor, site preparation only requires the sub floor to be reasonably smooth and flat. We start by installing a vinyl damp-proof membrane and over this place a layer of special density cellular polyurethane. Then two layers of semi-flexible Harlequin panels are laid at right angles to one another and staggered so the joins do not coincide. The top layer of panels is then bonded with non-return polymer coated staples and the damp-proof membrane folded onto the surface and secured. Then the selected Harlequin dance surface is installed and adhered and the seams welded to form an unbroken surface. Finally the gap between wall and floor is bridged with a composite skirting profile to form a flexible seal to the wall. Harlequin Activity is generally installed with a Harlequin vinyl surface, such as Cascade, Studio, Fiesta, Tempo or even Allegro. We can also replace the second layer of semi-flexible panels with a selected hardwood surface layer, normally an engineered board with a choice of hardwood wear layer. (However, by quotation, this can be substituted with a solid hardwood layer)GuaranteeAll Harlequin floors are unconditionally guaranteed against defects in manufacture, provided that claims are made within six months of date of despatch or, in the case of Activity Floor and Liberty Sprung Floor Panels, installation. Our guarantee for reasonable wear and tear covers five years. After five years we will take into account the value the end user has received from the product and adjust any claims accordingly. A reasonable life expectancy of Harlequin Activity is minimum ten years.
